Kimberley and Sam - The Dairy at Waddesdon Manor

As a wedding photographer, I don’t pick favourites. I love all the weddings I go to. They all bring something unique to the table, reflecting the unique relationship each of my couple’s have. But sometimes – sometimes – there is a wedding that stands out a little more than the rest. More recently, this has been Kimberley and Sam’s wedding at The Dairy at Waddesdon Manor.

Kimberley and Sam’s wedding was absolutely sensational. It was everything you could want a wedding to be and more. From small details to big surprises, not to mention the glorious weather we were lucky to have… it was the perfect day.

The venue

It’s no secret that The Dairy at Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire is my favourite wedding venue (and also a stones throw from my house too!). Kimberley & Sam had their ceremony overlooking the lake surrounded by their friends and family in the beautiful July sunshine. Another iconic element of The Dairy is one of the stunning, eye-catching structures, conveniently in the shape of a wedding cake (link). This made for an incredible backdrop for many of the wedding photos, but better still, Kimberley and Sam actually incorporated the structure into the entertainment for their guests. During the drink’s reception, they had their incredible electronic violinist pop out of the top of the wedding cake structure to perform for the guests as a surprise!

Entertainment

The surprises didn’t stop there, as the venue was suddenly infiltrated by a pop-up gospel choir! Only the bride & groom knew about this, and once the wedding breakfast had, the entire wedding party were up singing and dancing! I’ve experienced entertainment like singing waiters, but these guys - wow! I think I shot this entire hour with the biggest smile on my face (plus throwing in a few dance moves too!) This was such a special moment, being able to capture the shock, surprise and happiness on the guests’ faces throughout the performance.

The dress

Kimberley’s dress was the dress of dreams – and one that I’ve had on my Pinterest board and been hoping to photograph for some time now. From the well known Made with Love Bridal, the dress was complete with sleeves that were a work of art and really what bridal dreams are made of. With a background in fashion, I love seeing the various styles that brides choose for their wedding dresses, and Kimberley’s certainly did not disappoint.

Everything about this wedding screamed “extra!” in the very best possible way. There is not one moment from this day that I didn’t absolutely love, not one detail that didn’t blow me away. It was a truly stunning wedding that I know is going to stay with me for a very long time to come.
