Hannah and Damon have been in front of my camera a few times, as I’ve had the pleasure of photographing their little boy Tommy countless times in the studio, at their home and in some beautiful bluebells too! Hannah and Damon were also the stars of this beautiful golden hour pre-wedding shoot in Oxford city centre.
Bridal prep wasn’t on the cards for me this time, so I arrived at the church in Radley nice and early to capture all the details, guests arriving and of course the man of the hour, Damon, arriving in his surprise wedding car. This church holds a very special place in Hannah and Damon’s hearts, so it was an honour to be here and to be a part of their special day.
Hannah shortly arrived in the dress of my dreams (yes, my dreams) as her off-the-shoulder dress boasted the most beeeauuutiful sleeves and we all know how much I love sleeves. Teamed with her bridesmaid in mis-matched dresses of different shades of green, a quick sing-song hype moment, it was time to get this ceremony on the road.
Emotions were high, tears were shed (by me also behind my camera) but on the whole, the church was bursting with love and happiness for these two.
Confetti was thrown and we grabbed a few couple shots at the church and then headed off into central Oxford for their reception at Cherwell Boathouse. Cherwell is such an accommodating venue, so welcoming and also included is a private punt for the bride and groom, and one for me also so we could take a gentle punt along the river to soak up the sunshine and get some unique and beautiful wedding photos. What better way to then arrive back at your venue, with all your guests waiting for you along the waterfront?!
This day really felt like a summer's day. Drinks were flowing, being by the water and there was so much good energy. Their wedding breakfast was held on the upper level of the boathouse, filled with natural light and green foliage. The attention to detail of styling from the couple was next level, with printed photos, personalised sunglasses and delicate place names.
We held off on their couple shots until the evening where we caught a slither of the golden hour, and it was then time for the evening! This wedding DELIVERED when it came to the dance floor shots. Hannah even surprised Damon with a saxophonist who added that extra layer of fun to the tunes being played.
Oxford is the perfect backdrop for any wedding, and if you’re looking for your Oxford Wedding Photographer, I’d love to be considered. My 2024 and 2025 diary is open and I’d love to hear from you! Fill out my contact form here and I’ll be in touch very soon with my wedding brochure.
